Landscaping that fits the Park Cities
The Park Cities are not a place for a generic, drop-in lawn crew. Highland Park and University Park are full of established homes on mature lots with heavy live-oak and pecan canopies, tight setbacks, and an expectation that the landscaping matches the architecture. We design and install with that reality in mind: shade-tolerant planting under the canopy, clean evergreen structure that reads well year-round, and hardscape and lighting that fit estate-tier homes rather than fight them. We have laid sod, built beds, and maintained yards across both cities for years.
Shade-first plant and grass selection under the canopy
The single biggest mistake in Park Cities yards is forcing sun-loving Bermuda under a mature canopy where it will never thrive. We select for the light each zone actually gets: St. Augustine or shade-rated Zoysia under the oaks, structured evergreen and native understory in the deep shade, and seasonal color where the sun breaks through. The result is a yard that looks intentional in every season, not a patchy lawn that thins out a little more every summer.
Mature trees, drainage, and city standards
Established Park Cities lots come with established trees, and protecting them is part of the job: we plan beds, grading, and irrigation to respect root zones rather than damage them. We also handle the drainage problems that two decades of settling create on these older lots, and we work to the higher finish standard the neighborhoods expect. Where a project touches protected trees or requires city sign-off, we plan for it up front.

Real questions, real answers.
Do you work in both Highland Park and University Park?
Can you landscape a heavily shaded yard?
Do you handle full design, or just maintenance?
